ATCoach® Tactical Edition – AN/GPN-22 Precision Approach Radar training system delivered for Oconus Sites

Woburn, MA. – UFA, Incorporated announced today the completion of installation and training for three atcoach Tactical edition – an/gpn-22 Precision Approach Radar (PAR) Simulation and Training Systems at Andrews AFB, MD for shipment to OCONUS Sites by the USAF. The systems are part of an order previously received for six additional AN/GPN-22 PAR Simulators awarded to UFA after the successful USAF evaluation of two UFA AN/GPN-22 simulators. The evaluation demonstrated the high fidelity of the UFA system needed for USAF controller training.

The ATCoach Tactical Edition PAR Simulator is a standalone system that can be deployed or used at fixed bases. The simulator includes UFA’s ATVOICE® product which provides a speaker independent voice recognition and response system avoiding the need for pseudo pilots during training exercises. The ATVOICE® TACTICAL EDITION product is also being used throughout the United States Army for approach and PAR controller training and supports the complete set of phraseology needed for these positions. This powerful system is easy to use, requires no additional staff to operate and comes with a complete set of Editors to allow the user to build additional exercises.

The systems, also located at Pease ANGB, Seymour-Johnson AFB, Holloman AFB, and Langley AFB, are being used for proficiency training and to train controllers before deployment. The simulation fidelity and voice- recognition capability achieved with ATCOACH – TACTICAL EDITION has allowed the USAF to successfully provide controllers training in all performance skills required for PAR certification “just-in-time” for deployment and to meet contingency requirements.

Headquartered in Woburn, MA, UFA is a privately held software engineering firm specializing in Air Traffic Management simulation products. UFA’s comprehensive product line is in use around the world and in addition to ATCoach includes the ATTower®/ATView™ Tower Simulation and Visualization products and the ATVoice Voice Recognition and Response product.
