ATNS accepts UFA’s ATCoach® Radar Training Simulator Upgrade
Woburn, MA, June 30, 2000 – UFA, Incorporated, announced today that Air Traffic and Navigation Services (ATNS) of South Africa has formally accepted UFA’s ATCoach Radar Simulator Upgrade for use in their Air Traffic Controller Training Academy in Johannesburg, South Africa. The ATNS ATCoach Radar Simulator includes six Controller positions, six Instructor positions, and thirteen Pseudo Pilot positions. The ATCoach software upgrade, performed in conjunction with an ATNS computer hardware upgrade, included enhancements to the Controller display software and corresponding functions and capabilities to mimic their new operational Automation System.
ATNS is principally involved in the supply of Air Traffic and Navigation Services and the maintenance of the Air Traffic Navigation infrastructure in South Africa’s area of responsibility. Other operations in the company include the supply of Aeronautical Information Services, technical maintenance and aerodrome services along with the training of registered Air Traffic Controllers and Avionician technical staff.
