UFA announces contract award from University of North Dakota

Woburn, MA, January 31, 2005 – UFA, Incorporated, announced today that the company has been awarded a Contract from the University of North Dakota’s John D. Odegard School of Aerospace Sciences for UFA’s ATCoach® Global Edition Radar Simulator. UND’s ATCoach Global Edition Radar Simulator includes sixteen Controller positions with UFA’s integrated ATVoice® Voice Recognition and Pilot Response, sixteen Assistant Controller positions, sixteen Pilot positions, an Information Support Server, and two Supervisor positions. Each Supervisor position also includes ATPrepare, UFA’s latest integrated Data Preparation software toolset, to easily and quickly develop Sites and Scenarios for simulation exercises. All positions are equipped with UFA’s ATRadio™ for simulated Air-to-Ground communications and Land Line telephony.

Beginning with the 2005 - 2006 academic year, UND will utilize UFA’s ATCoach Global Edition Radar simulator technology to provide “real-world” training of future Air Traffic Controllers enrolled in their Air Traffic Control program. ATCoach provides high fidelity simulation and display of radar data, flight data and weather data for Terminal and En Route environments and includes UFA’s ATVoice and ATRadio products. ATVoice, UFA’s integrated Voice Recognition and Response product, recognizes a student controller’s spoken clearance to the simulated aircraft, automatically implements that clearance, and provides an appropriate pilot response via Text-To-Speech. ATRadio provides simulated Air-To-Ground communications and Land Line telephony to the student Controller using Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technologies.

Headquartered in Woburn, MA, UFA is a privately held software engineering firm specializing in Air Traffic Management simulation products. UFA’s AIR Traffic Management simulation product line is in use around the world and includes ATCoach®, ATTower, ATVoice, and ATRadio. UFA maintains additional offices in Gaithersburg, MD.
