ATCoach® Embedded Simulation
This ATCoach technology provides the highest simulation fidelity by merging simulated target generation with operational ATC automation systems. Using the core ATCoach simulation engine, this system generates real time surveillance sensor messages and provides and responds to flight data messages that are then processed by the operational ATC automation systems as if they originated from operational sensors and flight data processors.
In addition to full fidelity hardware- and software-in-the-loop training, ATCoach Embedded Simulation also provides an extensive embedded automation system test capability that may be used during all automation system life cycle phases from system development to acceptance, verification, and certification, and to daily readiness or return-to-service testing at field operational sites.
ATCoach Embedded Simulation is currently in use in a research environment at the DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH in Germany. In addition, ATCoach Embedded Simulation is in use on the FAA STARS Program, the FAA ERAM Program, and the Lockheed Martin Transportation and Security Systems’ Skyline Program with installations in New Zealand, Korea, China, Albania, and Argentina, and their NAS/DSR Trainer Program at the Minneapolis Community & Technical College’s Air Traffic Control Program.
