ATVoice® Automated Voice Recognition and Response
ATVoice is a robust voice recognition and response system allowing the user to control the simulation exercise through voice commands using standard FAA 7110.65 or ICAO air traffic control phraseology.
Used in the ATCoach®, ATModel®, or ATTower® environments, ATVoice can often replace pseudo pilots, or greatly reduce their work load, by accepting and implementing controller clearances as well as generating the appropriate pilot response to these clearances through Text-To-Speech or digitized speech.
ATVoice is based upon the BBNT HARK and Avoke high accuracy voice recognition engines. HARK and Avoke are continuous, speaker independent recognizers that do not require each user to “train” the system in order to have it recognize his or her voice.
In addition to its use in the ATCoach, ATModel, and ATTower installations, ATVoice has also been used in other ATC and DOD simulation applications. ATVoice may also be used in applications requiring voice recognition for non-native speakers of US English. UFA has developed several international Voice Models to support a variety of non-native speakers of US English accents and dialects including Danish, German, Australian, New Zealander, and Cantonese.
